Brevard Zoo


The Brevard Zoo opened in 1994 funded by contributions and grants; the Zoo is built on 56 acres donated by The Viera Company’s corporate parent, A. Duda & Sons, Inc. with a volunteer force of over 16,000 local citizens. Their mission is “Wildlife Conservation through Education and Participation” and as a world-class zoo they had raised $3.5 million dollars to build an advanced animal habitat for a modern day zoo. The Zoo is home to more than 550 animals representing over 165 species from Florida, South America, Africa, Asia and Australia. Every section of the Zoo is build to be interactive with is visitors and to provide a sense of being “naturally” in the wild.

Space Coast Stadium


The Space Coast Stadium is the Spring Training home of the Washington Nationals Baseball Team and the regular season home of the Brevard County Manatees. The stadium opened in 1994 and sits on land contributed by The Viera Company. Brevard County currently owns the stadium and significant renovations began in 2006 to enhance the facility with new seats, scoreboard, sound system and video screen.

The Maxwell C. King Center For the Performing Arts


Opened in 1988, this state-of-the-art, multi-use facility brings a wide range of wonderful entertainment to the Central Brevard area. With top-name performers, Broadway touring shows, classical and pop artists, ballet and contemporary dance, opera, country music artists, family-oriented events and children’s theater all on the agenda, the center consistently attracts a large and loyal audience.

Port Canaveral


As one of the busiest ports in the U.S., Port Canaveral hosts some of the most spectacular cruise ships in the world. From this convenient location, thousands of passengers a week board ships ranging from Disney’s newest fleet member, the Disney Dream, to Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Dream and Carnival Cruise Line’s Dream. Although the excitement of the port is centered around its majestic cruise ships, it is also a robust cargo center with ever-expanding operations.

The Beaches


In close proximity to the ocean, there is no shortage of wonderful beaches, each with their own “personality” and distinction. One of the most famous is Cocoa Beach, legendary for its surfing and pier. Dotting the coast adjacent to Viera are a series of lovely beach towns such as Melbourne Beach, Satellite Beach and Indialantic with white sand, blue seas and wonderful waves for body surfing, boogey boarding or just floating.

Kennedy Space Center


With the 1958 creation of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, 1962 marked the establishment of its Launch Operations Center at Cape Canaveral. Soon this area became known as Florida’s Space Coast as America’s exploration of space began. From here, every American-manned mission was launched from the early days of Project Mercury to the Space Shuttle, and the Hubble Space Telescope and the Mars Explorer Rovers were sent into space. The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex provides an up-close view of this rich and vibrant history, as well as the exciting future plans for future space exploration. Tours provide a view of the Shuttle launch ports, Apollo’s Saturn V rocket, the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame and a multitude of other displays and exhibits.
